The Commonly Applied Projection Positions For Coronary Angiography
Generally, 6 body positions are selected for left coronary angiography, which can be adjusted according to different situations of vascular exposure. When the angiography catheter is in place, turn clockwise to project according to the frontal head position-left shoulder position-spider position-frontal foot position-liver position-right shoulder position. In this way, every side of the coronary artery is perfectly displayed under the irradiation of X-rays.

1. Positive head position: positive position (AP) + head position (CRA) 30°
Mainly observe the proximal and middle segments of the left anterior descending artery (LAD), and the branches of the left anterior descending artery (LAD) and the diagonal branch (D)
2. Left shoulder position: left anterior oblique (LAO) 30° + head (CRA) 20°
Mainly observe the middle and distal segments of the left anterior descending artery (LAD) and the opening of the diagonal branch (D)
3. Spider position: left anterior oblique (LAO) 45° + foot (CAU) 30°
Mainly observe the lesions of the left main (LM), left anterior descending (LAD), and left circumflex (LCX) openings, as well as the body of the left circumflex (LCX) and obtuse marginal (OM) openings and bodies.
4. Foot position: positive position (AP) + full position (CAU) 30°
Mainly observe the left main (LM), left anterior descending branch (LAD), left circumflex branch (LCX) opening and proximal end, left circumflex branch (LCX) body, obtuse marginal branch (OM) opening
5. Liver position: right anterior oblique (RAO) 30° + foot (CAU) 20°
Mainly observe the initial part of the left anterior descending branch (LAD), the left circumflex branch (LCX), the body of the left circumflex branch (LCX), the opening and body of the obtuse marginal branch (OM)
6. Right shoulder position: right anterior oblique (RAO) 30° + head (CRA) 20°
Mainly observe the middle and distal segments of the left anterior descending artery LAD.
