Courage To Step Out Of What You Are Good At
Recently, Mr. Yang He, the Co-founder, and CEO of WeMed Medical joined in the first entrepreneurship open course of WeiMing Science and Technology Innovation Camp. Based on Mr. Yang’s own experience, from the perspective of entrepreneurs, he communicated with students of Peking University about the process of starting a business from 0 to 1.
In 2014, he founded WeMed Medical with his business partner, and the company has gradually grown from a small business to today's scale. The main business is to provide full solutions of Digital Subtraction Angiography System, Mobile DSA System, Mobile C arm X-ray Machine, and Interventional Robot. The company is a hard technology enterprise with more than 100 patents, 80% of which are invention patents. It continues to progress at the rate of dozens of patents every year.
WeMed arms to make a holistic solution, the thinking process here follows two main lines:
Firstly, First, the competition around products has gradually transformed into competition around integrated solutions. Secondly, it is the development of our industry from electrification to intelligence.
Regardless of the field, entrepreneurship is actually divided into time periods. Be sure to choose the right direction at different times. If we want to start a business, we must conform to the trends of the times. It must be developed from the perspective of innovation and breakthrough, whether it is a technological breakthrough, or a breakthrough in some other materials, etc.
Entrepreneurs in the new era have four characteristics. Firstly, most entrepreneurs are well educated and have a certain educational background. Secondly, entrepreneurs or teams must have had some core technologies. Thirdly, entrepreneurs have work experience in other large companies. The last, our economy is constantly developing, when having an economic foundation, people are being more aware of exploration.
Moreover, entrepreneurs all have a certain spirit of adventure, and sometimes they have to bravely jump out of the field they are good at. Entrepreneurship must be forward-looking, have some depth and differentiation, must not be homogeneous, start earlier than others, and look at it two to three years longer than others, this is very meaningful.
Continuous innovation is the driving force behind entrepreneurship. When a company reaches a certain scale, it must establish a corporate culture.
A company is a place to show your skills. So what is the current company? It should be a paradise for innovators, a training ground for doers, and a place where everyone is willing to join in and create great products together.
