Key Parameters Of Medical Imaging Display--Image Resolution

The image resolution refers to the number of pixels per unit area, the cost of the display is also proportional to the resolution. The resolution of a normal display is 1024×768, which is sufficient for daily work, however, when displaying high-resolution images through software processing at low resolution, the content of the display screen needs to be changed. Obviously, this way of changing will inevitably lead to the "distortion" of the picture.

In this way, the basic requirements of medical imaging display are changed. Therefore, in terms of resolution, it is not only necessary to choose a medical display, but also to choose different resolutions according to different systems.

The resolution of the display is closely related to the resolution of the image itself, proper selection of display resolution can effectively reduce the acquisition cost of the display. The general image resolution is as below:

1. The medical digital angiography system, digital gastroenterology machine: 1024X1024 (single image), plus the menu is 1280X1024

2. MRI: 256X256 or 512X512(single image)

3. CT: 256X256 or 512X512(single image)

4. DR/CR: above 5 million (single image)

For the angiography system, CT and MRI only 1280X1024 resolution display is required to display a single image. The resolution of the display should match the resolution of the imaging device. The resolution of the display is too high, which will cause too much false information to affect the diagnosis (Mosaic effect), The resolution of the display is too low, which will cause information loss and affect the diagnosis.
