Factors Affecting Interventional Imaging Quality And Corresponding Quality Control Measures
Intervention equipment factors:
The quality of interventional images is closely related to the performance of DSA equipment and the stability of related x-ray exposure parameters.
1. X-ray source: High-quality interventional imaging requires DSA equipment to have X-ray tubes with excellent performance that can automatically adjust tube voltage, tube current, and focus according to specific conditions. Among them, the stability of the function and quality of the x-rays and x-ray detectors emitted by the DSA equipment tube is the key to affecting the quality of interventional images. The ideal x-ray source should have a point source and high energy.
2. The characteristics of the X-ray detector: It has the characteristics of high resolution and low distortion, ensuring that the horizontal stability difference of each frame of image is less than 1%.
3. Flat-panel detector image quality optimization technology: such as low-dose noise optimization technology, signal preprocessing and various artifact corrections play a vital role in obtaining high-quality dynamic DSA images.
4. Reasonable DSA operating procedures, maintenance, and usage environment: In order to ensure the best performance of DSA equipment, in addition to strictly operating the equipment according to normal procedures, regular maintenance and testing of DSA equipment and its ancillary facilities is also required to eliminate faults in a timely manner and maintain DSA equipment. Keep the room clean and tidy, and control the ambient temperature at 18-23°C and the humidity at 40%-60% to reduce indoor dust.
Imaging methods and operating factors:
1. Select the appropriate inspection mode before surgery. Each preset inspection mode consists of a series of imaging parameters. Each imaging parameter does not exist independently and must be matched with other parameters to achieve the best effect. The quality of DSA images is restricted by various parameters, such as tube voltage, tube current, additional filtering, contrast agent dosage, and image post-processing parameters.
2. To improve the quality of interventional imaging, we must start from the variable factors in the DSA imaging process, provide high-quality images for interventional surgeons, implement precise treatment, and take into account the radiation dose received by interventional surgeons and patients. The selection of imaging parameters should be carefully considered, and the impact of the value of a certain parameter on other parameters should be measured from multiple aspects.
Contrast agent configuration and high-pressure syringe parameter settings:
The injection volume and injection rate of contrast media directly affect the clarity and completeness of vascular images.
Patient factors:
Factors such as the patient's psychological factors, surgical stimulation, or disease may lead to changes in body position, thereby causing motion artifacts and thus reducing the quality of neurointerventional images. To address this issue, interventional procedures may be performed under general anesthesia when possible. In addition, taking restraint measures or training patients to cooperate can also effectively reduce or eliminate motion artifacts and improve image quality.
